Free Project Management Template Options

Whether you’re experienced in business or new to leading project and teams, it can difficult to know where to start with how to be effective at project management. From the multitude of online software platforms and pay or free templates, there’s a ton of information to dig through, which is why I’m going to walk you through some of the most basic free project management template options. Let me help you get find a few options to get you started!

Easy download or website sign up…which do you prefer?

If you search for free project management template options, you’ll find that depending on which website you visit that sometimes you can simply download a file directly from the site itself whereas at other times you’ll have to sign up on the website itself before downloading the file. Choosing the easy download option versus a website sign up comes down to whether or not you want a simple one-click for the download or if you’re willing to share your personal information. There’s no wrong option here – I just wanted you to be aware of what you’ll be looking at. I’ve broken up the free project management template options below into these two categories to make things easier for you.

Simple start with Clickup

While I’ll cover the one-click download and sign-up download options below, I wanted to provide an easy place to start if you don’t want to dig through the information below – this option would be to sign up to use the online software ClickUp. We’ll start with easy with the one-click download options available for several different project management templates, with a focus on those from Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Google Sheets, and Google Word.

Smartsheet Excel Template Downloads

While Smartsheet offers a lot of sophisticated project management templates, these few templates are a great place to start to try things out. Some of the available template options include:

The claim that using their templates is one of the easiest ways to learn all about project management, and I have to agree. Most importantly, after a couple of clicks you can download some very well organized project management templates for fast utilization. Some of the more popular templates offered at this site include:

Project Management Template Downloads via Website Signup

As I mentioned previously, there are a lot of other great project management templates free options, some of which you need to sign up on the website or online software program. While this takes a little bit of extra time, these downloads are truly excellent templates worth checking out!

ProjectManager Templates

ProjectManager offers some really cool free templates that you can download after signing up for a free trial. What’s great about these particular templates is that they have very cool looking designs, which I love! Here are just a few of the free templates you can download:

All in all, this is a really great place for templates if you’re looking to step up your game a little without making a big commitment.

Hubspot Templates

When you sign up on HubSpot you are able to get access to more than 80 free business templates, including:

  • Gannt Chart
  • Organizational Chart
  • Project Budget
  • Project Charter
  • Project Plan

I like HubSpot’s templates because you can download either a PDF or Excel version, giving you more versatility. Furthermore, they offer straightforward, simple templates that give you a great place to get started.
